October meeting...wow October!

This Tuesday is the monthly meeting of the Marianas Amateur Radio Club. The usual time and the usual place, 7:00 p.m. at the KSTO studio on Nimitz Hill, about 1 mile south of Top ‘O the Mar. There is plenty of parking behind the building and the entrance is on the lower south side of the building.

We will be talking about all things radio and electronics and communications. Everybody is invited whether you have a Ham Radio license of not.

We will be talking about the Technician Class coming up. This will be held at the Salvation Army office in Tyan on October 23 and 24, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The test will be held starting at 3:30 October 24.

At this time we have 14 Salvation Army personal attending the class and there is room for more. If you are interested please reply to this E-mail at wh2m@hotmail.com or contact any other Club Officer.

There is no charge to attend the class. We will be studying from the Gordon West Technician Class manual which has helped thousands of people earn their Ham License. While it is not required to buy the book, it will help you greatly to buy and read it before attending the class.

The test session fee is $14.00 (cash or check, we are unable to accept credit cards.) You may take a test even if you don’t take the class and we will be able to test for any of the 3 levels of Amateur Radio licenses.

Those who ordered books, they will be available for pick up at the meeting. Again, cash or check please.

If you need directions to the MARC meeting or to the Salvation Army please reply to this E-mail.

Thank you and 73,

Mike Wendt WH2M

PS As you know I try to give rides to those who need them. I’m unable to attend this meeting and I need a couple volunteers.
First, our friend Gus and Carla need a ride from Mangilao. Also Larry Krejci AL0AA and his wife need a ride from Tamuning. Call Ray Gibson at 477-5700 xt: 290 for their contact information.
