Monday Night Net 7PM Guam Time

HOW TO CONNECT
The Marianas Amateur Radio Club (MARC) of Guam holds its weekly "Net" every Monday at 7 PM local time (Chamorro Standard Time). This is 9 AM UTC/GMT the same day.
Two ways exist to connect:

(1) If you are on-island, tune in to 146.91 MHz and listen. If you are a licensed Ham operator, please speak up when the Net opens for discussion.

(2) If you can use IRLP (Internet Radio Linking Project), log into IRLP Reflector 9254.

THE JULY 20 MONDAY NET
Tonight we had eight Hams call in for the better part of a half hour. Seven Hams called in from Guam. An off-island resident, Bob, called in from the Big Island of Hawai'i using IRLP. Bob is the ARRL Section Manager. Coming over the IRLP, Bob sounded crystal clear.

The reception of some of those using Handi Talkies (hand held portable radios) seemed noticeably more static prone to this author. Among the worst transmitting was myself, with the factory-standard antennae. My transmission was more clear when I had a direct line of sight with the repeater on the hill of Barrigada Heights. Another Ham with the same model Handi Talkie as me, but with a better antennae, came in more clear than me.

NEXT WEEK: JULY 29 AT 9 AM UCT/GMT
So tune into 146.91 MHz if you are near or on-island. Or try IRLP 3672 or 9254 if you further away than Saipan.
